Traveling Dentist Dr. Mihaela Popa

Dr. Mihaela Popa obtained her Doctorate of Dental Medicine (DMD) from the University of Montreal, School of Dentistry in 2005.

Upon completion of her dental education, Dr. Popa decided to enhance her knowledge in the dental field by completing a Hospital Dental Residency Program in Brooklyn, NY. She was accepted into Wyckoff Heights Medical Center affiliated with Weill Medical School of Cornell University, where she completed two year general dentistry residency program.

Dr. Mihaela Popa enjoys making a difference in people’s lives, whether it is easing a patient’s anxiety, increasing their confidence in their smile or improving their overall oral health. Her goal is to provide her patients of all ages with gentle, comfortable, and compassionate dentistry with the highest level of quality care.

In 2015, Dr.  Popa started treating the geriatric population with Alzheimer’s and dementia in nursing homes, assisted living, and elderly care centers. A passionate advocate for the geriatric community she provides care for, Dr. Popa’s mission is to bring basic dental services and hope to the vulnerable long-term care residents and homebound population.   Dr. Popa prioritizes empathy and access while providing good technical care.  Recognizing the need for mobile dental services for housebound individuals unable to physically visit a dental office, Dr. Popa established a fully mobile practice, all within a high-tech rolling suitcase.

In 2016 dr. Popa completed a Mini residency in Nursing Home and Long-Term Care for the Dental Team sponsored by the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry.

In 2023 Dr. Mihaela Popa earned her certification as a Dementia Provider.
