“Through this project we have been able to increase our own understanding of geriatric oral health and the challenges that present with older age. We have taken that knowledge beyond ourselves in an attempt to bring the importance of geriatric oral health care into the radar of dental students and even to nursing home administrators and care providers nationwide. This is what distinguishes our community service project; we did not limit ourselves to serve the community that is our backyard but aimed to extend our reach to include the geriatric population across the nation.”
