Preventative care is one of the most important aspects of good dental care for patients of any age. Regular examinations become even more important in older patients whose limited mobility may inhibit sufficient brushing or flossing. Examinations often include cleaning, assessment of any teeth in need of restoration, and screening for oral cancer or other diseases. Recognizing and evaluating any changes in oral health early on can make a significant difference in our ability to effectively treat developing conditions.
Any diagnosis or consultation offered by Dr. Kauffman will occur at an in home examination. We cannot provide diagnoses over the phone. At your first visit, we will gather a thorough medical history. From there, we will consult with your primary care physician before starting any treatment or providing any medications. We also coordinate our treatment so that home care aides or family members can participate in the visit.
